Stewart B. Iglehart
Stewart Iglehart began his career on the Old Aiken team which won 11 tournaments over a four-year period, before any of its members reached 21 years of age. This same team, in 1931, defeated the Argentine Santa Paula team which later that season won the U.S. Open. Stewart was a five-time winner of the U.S. Open and represented America on four occasions versus England and Mexico. He also won the Indoor Polo Open Championship twice.
He was a brilliant 10-goal player who was known for his tactical finesse, great anticipation and teamwork. At the #3 position, he had the uncanny ability to turn the play and stay one stride ahead of the opposition. By his own play, he inspired teammates to perform beyond their usual capabilities.
