Silverada (Current Hope x Flower Plot) – foaled in 1990 and bred to be a racehorse, this stunning gray thoroughbred mare was originally named High Hope Silver. Although not fated to race, she was purchased by Judith Baker, who introduced her to polo. High Hope Silver impressed notable polo trainers and players. Vicki Armour arranged for Raul Roldan to try her for Bob Daniels, who ultimately purchased her for himself and renamed her Silverada. She was played by 10-goaler Gonzalo Heguy for the East Coast Open in 1994 where she won Best Playing Pony. Silverada was awarded Best Playing Pony for several other tournaments and was most notably awarded the Lady Susan Townley Cup for Best Playing Pony of the 1996 Argentine Open. Joining Norty Knox’s Ragamuffin who won in 1969 being the second American Horse to ever win it. Silverada also won the Best Type Mare trophy as part of the Best Mounted Player string in that ’96 series – a truly triumphant moment in polo history.
