A.D. “Don” Beveridge
A truly iconic figure during the rebuilding years following World War II, Don Beveridge was a catalyst for helping to reinvigorate the sport during the 1950s and 60s.
An exceptional amateur player, Beveridge helped organize and played on some of the most dynamic teams of the era, leading his famed Triple C team to three victories in the U.S. Open, as well as triumphs in the National 20-Goal (now the Silver Cup) in 1954 and ‘55, the Monty Waterbury and the Butler Handicap.
He was an astute organizer and developer, and as a co-founder of the Royal Palm Polo Club, played an integral part in bringing and promoting high-goal polo in South Florida.
